The SheTrades Mauritius Hub, in collaboration with the Indian Business Council, hosted its first capacity-building workshop of 2025 on Wednesday, January 22nd. The event, entitled Optimising Your Brain Power for Business Excellence, focused on empowering women entrepreneurs.
This impactful initiative was made possible through the efforts of Dr Ravneet Kaur Gulati, a distinguished psychiatrist and academician, who skillfully led the workshop. She tackled the often-overlooked topic of enhancing the entrepreneurial mindset in today’s rapidly evolving and challenging business environment.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Nirmala Jeetah, Director of the Bio Industry, Project Development, and SheTrades Mauritius Hub, highlighted how the dynamic business landscape has sparked interest in exploring the intersection of neuroscience and business excellence. She emphasised the importance of clarity, creativity, resilience and a growth mindset as key strategies for sustained business success.
Dr Suresh Nanda, President of the Indian Business Council, acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, particularly in the face of economic pressures such as inflation and geopolitical instability. He expressed his belief that the workshop, held at such a crucial time, would have a positive impact on participants’ lives.
Dr Gulati guided the attendees through an exploration of the different states of the mind, focusing on achieving a balance between rational and emotional thinking. She shared practical techniques for making smart decisions, leading in times of crisis, staying motivated, adapting to change and maintaining a consistent routine. Her expert insights and pragmatic approach were well-received by the audience.
The event also provided an excellent platform for like-minded women entrepreneurs to network, share ideas, and foster future collaborations.
To stay engaged with future initiatives and maximise the benefits of this network, we encourage women entrepreneurs to register on the SheTrades Mauritius Platform using the following link: https://forms.edbmauritius.org/cn/al935/STregister.
