The SheTrades Mauritius hub, in collaboration with the Indian Business Council, held a capacity-building workshop on Digital Marketing and Social Media on Thursday 20th of February 2025. The hub focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering more inclusive economic growth. The workshop aimed to enhance women’s digital marketing expertise, boosting their visibility and business expansion.
Due to the rapidly evolving digital landscape, many entrepreneurs are already shifting from traditional marketing methods to digital platforms using frontier technologies to have a competitive edge in the market. Staying abreast of the latest digital marketing trends is key for the women entrepreneurs to stay ahead of the curve.
In her welcome address, Mrs Nirmala Jeetah, Director of the Bio-Industry, Project Development and ITC SheTrades Mauritius Hub, urged women entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity to learn and adapt to the industry’s evolving demands. She encouraged them to be curious, think creatively, and leverage digital tools and strategies to enhance their business visibility and drive growth.

We had the honour of welcoming Mrs Meenakshi Saxena as the representative of the Indian Business Council. The council has significantly contributed to the business community by bringing in experts to enhance entrepreneurial skills through capacity-building programmes organized by the hub. Mrs. Saxena encouraged participants to leverage technology and expert guidance to stay ahead of the competition.
The workshop was led by Ms. Shweta Reedha, a seasoned expert in Communications and Digital Marketing. She stressed on key components such as Search Engine Optimization, marketing strategy development, selecting the right social media platforms, leveraging paid advertising, and using analytics for greater efficiency. Participants learned techniques to build a strong online presence and expand their reach. The workshop focused on strategies to convert marketing efforts into sales.

Recognising the importance of strategic alliances and market exposure for business growth, SheTrades Mauritius hub encouraged entrepreneurs to engage in the networking session and connect with their peers. Given the complexity of the topic, the hub plans to organize a follow-up session with a more hands-on, practical approach.
Women entrepreneurs interested to benefit from our mentorship programmes, training sessions, and available resources are encouraged to register on the SheTrades website.
