The SheTrades Mauritius Hub is honoured to support the upcoming IWAF Conference and Exhibition set to be held in Mauritius from 1st to 8th October 2025.
Established in 2018 in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, the International Women Artists Federation (IWAF) is a global arts organisation founded by women artists from 24 countries and regions. IWAF serves as a dynamic platform for international artistic collaboration and empowerment, celebrating creativity and diversity through the lens of women in arts.
Its member countries include Australia, China, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.
IWAF seeks to foster artistic excellence while leveraging the transformative power of arts as a vehicle for advocacy, amplifying voices to inspire meaningful change within communities and beyond. It drives cultural understanding and empathy, serving as a catalyst for international peace and goodwill.
For the first time, Mauritius will host the IWAF Conference and Exhibition. Members from various countries are travelling to Mauritius to participate in this event. The Exhibition will be held in the Caudan Arts Centre on the 3rd of October 2025 and will be open for public viewing.
This year’s theme, “Waves of Connectedness”, reflects IWAF’s dedication to unity, shared purpose, and the enduring bonds formed through artistic expression.
Ms Angel Angoh, President of IWAF (Mauritius) for the 2025-2026 term, along with other members are partnering with various associations and NGOs to welcome these international artists.
Ms Angel Angoh also serves as President of the Carpe Diem, an NGO dedicated to fostering a better world by empowering individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultivate more meaningful and harmonious relationships with others.
To ensure a memorable experience for visiting artists, the organisers are seeking sponsors and supporters to contribute to the following areas:
- Providing an authentic Mauritian welcome
- Organising island tours for the international guests
- Ensuring visitors leave with memorable souvenirs
- Supporting the development of future artistic platforms
- Proposing creative ideas for gifts, entertainment, and culinary experiences
