‘Trade Beyond Borders’ Training programme Session 6 – Compliance and Security – the essential pillars to navigate the global trade landscape

As the Trade Beyond Borders Training Program continues to gain momentum, the SheTrades Mauritius Hub in collaboration with the DHL distinctly proudly marks the completion of its sixth transformative session, held on 22 May 2025. This session focused on a critical pillar of sustainable and responsible global commerce: Compliance and Cybersecurity.

In an era where global trade is increasingly digitized and interconnected, the need to stay compliant and cyber-resilient is no longer optional; it is imperative. In collaboration with DHL Express Mauritius, the session was led by two seasoned experts who brought a dynamic mix of strategic insight and technical depth:

  • Ms. Sarita Ramdawor, First Choice Manager, known for her strategic approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Mr. Kevin Curpen, IT Manager (Service Management), a cybersecurity expert with deep experience in digital risk management

Together, they delivered an eye-opening and deeply insightful experience for all participants.

This session was designed not merely to inform, but to empower, providing participants, particularly women entrepreneurs, with the essential tools, knowledge, and confidence to protect their business operations and uphold strong compliance standards in today’s increasingly digitized and interconnected global economy.

In today’s trade environment, cybersecurity breaches and non-compliance do more than disrupt operation; they pose serious risks to brand credibility, customer trust, and long-term growth. For women entrepreneurs striving to expand across borders, understanding how to safeguard their enterprises is not just a technical requirement, but a strategic imperative for sustainable success.

What truly set this session apart was its interactive format. Through open discussions, group activities, and real case studies from DHL’s global operations, participants were able to connect theory with practice. They explored not only how to comply with international standards but also why these practices are critical for maintaining trust, credibility, and operational stability in global markets.

The facilitators shared invaluable knowledge drawn from their front-line experience, highlighting challenges businesses commonly face, dissecting notable cybersecurity incidents, and offering actionable guidance to pre-empt and respond effectively to risks.

These insights gave participants a clearer understanding of their role in building resilient, future-proof organizations.

The Trade Beyond Borders Training Program remains committed to shaping agile, informed, and future-ready entrepreneurs. This session stands as a testament to the journey of stronger, smarter and more secure businesses.
