The program is designed to equip participants with critical knowledge, skills, and resources for international market expansion by leveraging DHL’s extensive expertise in logistics and global trade operations.

Objectives
This programme is designed to prepare women entrepreneurs towards exports by empowering them with:
- Increased Knowledge: Provide women entrepreneurs with knowledge on export readiness, international trade regulations, and logistics management.
- Skill Development in Logistics and Export: Support women-led businesses to learn about logistics supply chain and export including customs clearance processes.
- Networking: Foster partnerships and networks with key stakeholders in the logistics and export sectors, facilitating direct mentorship and support for women entrepreneurs.

Akhtar joined DHL Express in Mauritius in 2015 as a Field Sales Executive, bringing 9 years of experience in managing a diverse portfolio of customers across various industries, including Textile, Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Logistics, and Food Manufacturing.
He is well-versed in the guidelines for transporting Dangerous Goods (DG), such as lithium batteries, chemical substances, healthcare products, and cold chain logistics. Akhtar is committed to understanding his customers’ businesses to become their trusted logistics advisor, leveraging his extensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management to provide tailored solutions.

Joan has been a dedicated Retail Executive at DHL (Mauritius) Ltd for 11 years, where she oversees the daily operations of retail locations, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving sales growth. Currently serving as the Head of Products for DGF AfricaConnect at DHL Global Forwarding Mauritius Ltd, she manages stakeholder relationships to enhance product offerings across Africa. With a strong commercial focus, Ashika leads the pricing structure supporting destination services for 30 countries, including Mauritius, where she is responsible for sourcing, securing, and negotiating competitive pricing while designing innovative solutions tailored to the unique logistics challenges of the region.

She currently serves as the First Choice Manager for Sub Saharan Africa at the DHL Express Regional Office in Mauritius. This aligns with DHL’s continuous improvement program, First Choice, which aims to make DHL the top choice in logistics for its customers.

Dr. Judith Fessehaie is Head, SheTrades Initiative at the International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of UNCTAD and the WTO. Deepak Deepchand is currently serving as the Country Manager for DHL (Mauritius) Ltd, a role he has held for some time. His long tenure at DHL highlights his deep understanding of its operations, growth strategies, and leadership dynamics.
Deepak holds a Degree in Information Technology (IT), equipping him with a strong technical foundation. Additionally, he has earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management, which further enhances his ability to manage complex projects and teams effectively. His educational background complements his practical experience, enabling him to navigate both the technical and managerial aspects of the logistics sector with efficiency.
In his current role, Deepak is responsible for overseeing the operations of DHL in Mauritius, ensuring that the company delivers top-notch service in line with global standards. His leadership role involves strategic decision-making, optimizing supply chain processes, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction in the region.
Astrid M. Longue
HR Business Partner, DHL Global Forwarding MU & MG
Astrid Montagne Longue holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Studies from the University of Mauritius, graduating in 2014. With a combined 15 years of experience in the HR field, she spent the first 10 years of her career in the retail sector, where she honed her skills in talent management and employee engagement.
Five years ago, Astrid transitioned to the logistics industry, bringing her extensive knowledge and expertise to her current role as DHL Global Forwarding’s HR Business Partner for Mauritius and Madagascar. She is passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture and driving organizational success through effective human resource strategies.
Her insights and experiences of Women in Logistics is invaluable, with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the sector for women.
Rashish Bundhun
Commercial Manager, DHL Express – MU
Versatile, ambitious Executive who is passionate about new projects and challenges and proactive in identifying and establishing strategic alliances with organisation leaders in view of supporting key business projects and initiatives. Nazeema Jaulim-Seelarbokus
Manager Quality, Mauritius Port Authority
Nazeema Jaulim-Seelarbokus reckons 18 years of experience in the field of maritime and logistics industry. She joined the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA) in 2007, promoted to the post of Quality Coordinator in 2011, and then to the post of Manager Quality in 2024. Nazeema is a Certified Lead Auditor in both Quality Management Systems and Environment Management Systems and she has the responsibility of maintaining two ISO Certification Systems, namely ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 at the MPA.
Nazeema’s visionary spirit led her to be the founding member of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) in Mauritius, where she served the organization with her leadership as its first Chairperson in 2016. Her influence expanded in 2019 when she was appointed WiLAT Global Chairperson for the Indian Ocean Islands, orchestrating the establishment of new chapters across the region. An academic achiever, Nazeema holds an MBA and is a distinguished Chartered Member of both the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Chartered Governance Institute, UK.
Her exceptional contributions earned her the prestigious International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) scholarship during 2019-2020, recognizing her relentless commitment to uplifting women in logistics and transport. Nazeema is a regular speaker at various local and international conferences including the Maritime Week in Mauritius, Seychelles, and Reunion, sharing her insights on women’s empowerment, discussing topics such as diversity, inclusivity, and green port initiatives.
Swaraj Sunassy
Section Head Airport Cargo Operations, MRA Customs
Extensive experience in customs operations, specializing in air cargo clearance, passenger terminal operations and enforcement. Played a key role in the implementation of major projects including e-commerce, e-courier and auction sales. Actively involved in process automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency. Trustee at the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) for sales by auctions. Leads a team of approximately 50 staff, ensuring compliance and streamlined operations within customs regulations.
