Dr Suresh Nanda
Banker
A seasoned banker with over 45 years of experience, Dr Suresh Nanda managed large business in leadership positions across Project Finance, Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking and International Banking divisions of ICICI/ ICICI Bank, ING Bank (India) and ING Asia Private Bank (Dubai) and Bank One (Mauritius). Dr Nanda holds a Master’s degree in Economics, Doctorate in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and has also attended an Advanced Management Program at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr Nanda has worked closely with McKinsey & Co. and monitored multiple projects, including the operational integration of ICICI and ICICI Bank, brand intent for ING group in India and the market positioning of ING Private Banking. In Mauritius, he played a key role in transforming the international banking business of Bank One, increasing business volumes, revenue, profitability and portfolio quality, thereby, helping the bank to become a leading player in international banking. Suresh is currently involved in investment banking and is also part of a reputed India-focused Private Equity fund. He serves as independent Director and is also in the Investment Advisory Committee of a deep-tech Venture Fund.
He has extensive experience in training in leadership, business development, corporate finance, international banking, FI lending, corporate and SME lending, Treasury and AML, corporate strategy and corporate governance in various banks and reputed academic institutions including IIMs, IIFT, SP Jain & University of Wollongong (Dubai). Dr. Nanda has also trained many bankers in various subjects in several banking training institutes in India as well as several bankers and Central Bankers from select African countries.
Dr Nanda is recognised as a thought leader and regular contributor to leading business newspapers and magazines on international banking, emerging markets, financial centres and on highlighting the African advantage.
