The Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius wishes to inform the public that it has identified the existence of fraudulent Facebook accounts falsely impersonating the EDB and the SheTrades Mauritius Hub.
These malicious accounts are unlawfully using the EDB logo, branding, and institutional identity, and are engaging with members of the public under false pretences. It has been brought to our attention that these accounts are being used to mislead individuals and solicit payments, thereby exposing the public to financial loss and fraud.
The EDB wishes to clarify that:
- The only official Facebook page for the SheTrades Mauritius Hub is:
SheTrades Mauritius Hub (Official) - Any other Facebook pages or accounts claiming to represent the EDB or SheTrades Mauritius Hub should be treated as fraudulent and unauthorised unless formally verified.
The EDB has formally escalated this matter to Meta (Facebook) and requested the immediate removal of all impersonating accounts, as well as the verification of the legitimate page to prevent further abuse.
